【Pharmacological Effect】Pharmacodynamic: Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic for a variety of gram-negative bacteria (such as E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella, Salmonella, etc.) and Staphylococcus aureus (Including beta-lactamase producing strains) all have antibacterial effects. The majority of cocci (Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus faecalis, etc.), anaerobes (Bacteroides or Clostridium), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Rickettsia and fungi are resistant to this product.

Pharmacokinetics: Absorbed quickly and completely after intramuscular injection. Peak plasma concentrations are reached in 0.5 to 1 hour. The bioavailability of subcutaneous or intramuscular injection exceeds 90%. Mainly through glomerular filtration excretion, excretion accounted for 40% to 80% of the dose. Elimination half-life after intramuscular injection, horses 1.8 to 3.3 hours, calves 2.2 to 2.7 hours, dogs and cats 0.5 to 1.5 hours, cows and pigs 1 hour, rabbits 1 to 2 hours, sheep, buffaloes, cattle and milk The goat is 2.3 to 3.2 hours.

【Medicine Interactions】（1）Antagonism may occur when combined with tetracycline, erythromycin.

（2）It will enhance the ototoxicity when used combined with cephalosporins, dextran, potent diuretics, erythromycin, etc.

（3）Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as choline chloride, etc.) or drugs with this effect can enhance the neuromuscular blockade of this product.

【Function】Aminoglycoside antibiotics. For gram-negative and positive bacterial infections.

【Usage and dosage】Intramuscular injection: One dose, 0.04 to 0.08 ml per kg of body weight to livestock, and 0.06 to 0.1 ml for dogs and cats. Two times a day, use 2 to 3 days.

【Adverse reactions】（1）Ototoxicity. It often causes damage to the auditory canal. This damage can be aggravated by the accumulation of drugs that are administered continuously and is dose-dependent.

（2）Occasionally allergic reactions. Cats are more sensitive and often cause nausea, vomiting, runny nose, and ataxia. Large doses can cause neuromuscular blockade. After dogs and cats undergo surgical general anesthesia, accidental death often occurs when penicillin is combined to prevent infection.

（3）Could cause reversible nephrotoxicity.

【Note】（1）Gentamicin can be combined with β-lactam antibiotics to treat severe infections, however, there is incompatibility in vitro mixing.

（2）It has a synergistic effect on streptococci when used combined with penicillin.

（3）With respiratory depression, it is not suitable for intravenous injection.

（4）Antagonism may occur when used combined with tetracycline, erythromycin.

（5）When used combined with cephalosporins may increase renal toxicity.
